DECORAH, Iowa — An eagle monitored by the preservation group Raptor Resource Project has laid three eggs, and the web cam monitoring her next is drawing attention in Iowa and beyond.

The eagles have had to fight for their nest in 2015, going at least two rounds with some owls who thought it was a good site. And now, the mother eagle has laid three eggs.

That’s unusual, but not unprecedented. Experts say bald eagles lay one to three eggs per year.
