GSW students attend study abroad program in China

AMERICUS — Twelve Georgia Southwestern State University students traveled to Shanghai, China for two weeks during the December break to take part in the Chinese Language and Cultural Program. The program was hosted by Shanghai Ocean University.
Local students included: Roland Hancock III, a senior exercise science major from Americus; Catheren Shirah, a senior human resource nanagement major from Americus; Alexis Young, a senior theater major from Ellaville.
During the program, students had both educational experiences such as attending Chinese language classes and calligraphy workshops and cultural experiences such as touring landmarks around Shanghai and sampling local cuisine.
The program was jointly funded by Shanghai Ocean University and Georgia Southwestern State University.
