Americus

Antioch Missionary Baptist Church

A Mothers’ Day celebration is at 11 a.m. Sunday with Minister Barbara Thomas speaking. Sunday school starts at 9:45 a.m. Everyone is invited.

New Ebenezer Baptist Church

The annual revival is at 7:30 p.m. June 2-4 with the Rev. Napoleon Cooper of Albany as guest speaker. Everyone is invited.

New Jerusalem Baptist Church

A Mothers’ Day Tea is at 11 a.m. Sunday, honoring all mothers.

New Corinth Baptist Church

The church’s anniversary (over 150 years) and the pastor’s 13th anniversary are observed at 2:30 p.m. May 17. The Rev. Calvin Rollins and Big Bethel Baptist Church are in charge. All area churches and the public are invited.

Friendship Missionary Baptist Church

“Mother’s Day Extravaganza” is at 4 p.m. Sunday. Groups on program are: Men of Destiny, Kourtney Latimore Shelley, Friendship Male Chorus, The Jenkins Jubilee, Sister Dot McCray and The McCray Singers, The Harmony Stars, The Spiritual Saints of Middle Georgia, Bishop Melvin McCluster and The Tri-L Singers and Special guest group Apostle Rosilyn Copeland and One Voice of Quincy, Fla. A gift will be given to all mothers in attendance. A gift will also be given to the oldest mother, the youngest mother and the mother with the most children. Everyone is invited.

Union Oak Grove Baptist Church

A Youth Revival us at 7:30 p.m. May 19 and 20 with the Rev. Charles Carr as speaker. The revival culminates at 11:30 a.m. May 24. Everyone is invited.

New St. Paul Baptist Church

The church and pastor’s anniversaries are celebrated at 7 a.m. June 3 with the Rev. Jack Johnson bringing the message. The celebration culminates at 11 a.m. June 7 with the Rev. Justin Johnson speaking. Everyone is invited.

Zion Hope Baptist Church

Revival services are at 7:30 p.m. May 11-15 with the Rev. Will Edward of Union Oak Grove Baptist Church, Americus as speaker. The public is invited.

Friendship Baptist Church

The annual revival continues at 7:30 p.m. today with Bishop James Lundy, pastor of Tabernacle of Faith, Ellaville, bringing the message. Dinner will be served. The revival culminates Sunday with Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. and worship at 11 a.m. The pastor’s, the Rev. James Thomas’ 17th anniversary and the church’s 132nd anniversary will be observed. Evangelist Kelvin Lundy is guest speaker. Everyone is welcome.

Greater New Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church

The annual Church and Pastor anniversaries are observed at 11 a.m. Sunday with Pastor Glenn Bryant, of County Line Baptist Church, Americus, and Jehovah Baptist Church, Oglethorpe, as speaker. Everyone is invited.

Smithville

New Hope Baptist Church

The annual Youth Revival is at 7:30 p.m. May 12-14 with the Rev. Courtney Moore, the Rev. David Hamm and the Rev. Glenn Bryant Sr. speaking on consecutive nights.

Youth Day is observed at 11 a.m. May 17 with Minister Trenton Floyd of Antioch Baptist Church as guest speaker. Dinner will be served.

Zion Hope Baptist Church

The annual Family Week observance culminates Sunday with Sunday school at 9 a.m. and worship at 10 a.m. Church pastor, the Rev. George F. Monts Jr., delivers the message. Everyone is invited.
