GSW hires assistant baseball coach, Geoffrey Jimenez

AMERICUS – Georgia Southwestern head baseball coach Bryan McLain has added Geoffrey Jimenez to his staff for the 2016 season.
Jimenez comes to GSW from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., where he received his Bachelor’s in exercise science. While at Nova Southeastern Jimenez played on the baseball team and led the Sunshine State Conference in stolen bases in 2014.
Before NSU Jimenez attended Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Fla., where he helped the NCAA Division I Owls become Sun Belt Conference Champions in 2012 and 2013 and was named to the 2013 Sun Belt All-Tournament Team. He was also named to the 2012 Sun Belt All-Academic Team.
Jimenez is the son of Jose and Barri and has one sister, Leeza. A native of Pembroke Pines, Fla., Jimenez attended Charles W. Flanagan High School where he was a part of the 2010 FHSAA Class 6A state championship team and 2010 Baseball America national champions with a record of 25-2.
Last year Jimenez helped instruct at Charles W. Flanagan High School and coached them to the district championship and regional finals.
