Ready! Set! Glow!

AMERICUS — Magnolia Manor hosts its 8th annual 5K Run/Walk Saturday, Sept. 12. Unique to our area, this year’s event will be an evening Glow Event held on Magnolia Manor’s beautiful campus located a t 2001 S. Lee St. beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Pre-registration can be completed until 5 p.m. Friday on Active.com or by completing a registration form which can be found at www.magnoliamanor.com under the happenings tab and delivered to our cooperate office located in The Pitts Building at 2001 S. Lee St. Costs for pre-registration are $35 timed and $30 untimed. Day of walk up registration can be completed beginning at 6 p.m. on the campus, in front of the Clarke W. Duncan Wellness Center and costs are $40 timed and $35 untimed. (children 6 and under are free.)
Glowing for the event is highly encouraged; participants are encouraged to wear bright clothing, glow in the dark items and to come early to take advantage of the DIY Glow Paint Booth. The event will also feature a Black light Photo Booth, informational booths and activities for children.
One hundred percent of the proceeds raised by Magnolia Manor events go directly to resident support. This annual event benefits The League of the Good Samaritan, the charitable arm of Magnolia Manor. The League was created in order to assure Magnolia Manor stays true to its founding fathers’ promise; “no one, having chosen to come to Magnolia Manor, would ever have to leave due to an inability to pay for care.” This fund directly pays for the care of residents whose funds have been depleted and otherwise would have no ability to provide for their basic needs.
