Cleanup of the historic New Corinth Baptist Church cemetery starts at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3.
The church and cemetery are located at 1178 Hooks Mill R0ad, Americus. The volunteer cemetery restoration squad will complete the first phase of the clean-up Oct. 17. Tools most needed are mowers, chain, hand and bow saws, hedge trimmers, loopers, swing blades weed wackers, hoes and rakes. Volunteers should bring gloves, wear high-top boots and long-sleeve shirts or sweaters. The clean-up ends at noon when lunch will be served.
