Drug investigation garners cash, narcotics, vehicle

AMERICUS — According to a press release from Sumter County Sheriff Pete Smith, on Wednesday search warrants were executed at 206 E. Rockhill, 247 Ga. Highway 49 South, Lot K and 125-B Rainbow Terrace, Americus, which are all residences associated with Milo Mumford of 247 Ga. Highway 49 South, Lot K.
The release says the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, along with DEA-Columbus assisted by Taylor County Sheriff’s Office, have been conducting a drug investigation over the past six months in regard to cocaine trafficking in Sumter County.
On Wednesday, Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, DEA Columbus and Taylor County Sheriff’s Office were assisted by Houston County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team (SRT). The SRT assisted in the execution of search warrants at the above residences. The evidence collected by investigators included narcotics, scales, packaging materials, weapons and several thousands of dollars in cash. Also seized in the investigations was a 2013 Chevrolet Camaro.
Arrested during the search was Renae Mumford Mann, 56, the suspect’s mother, on weapons charges. Warrants are outstanding for the arrest of Milo Vidal Mumford who being sought in reference to these crimes.
Mann was released on bond late Friday afternoon.
