• Firefighters responded to 15 calls for medical assistance.
• Firefighters responded to an outside rubbish fire on Horton Drive. They found a small pile of clothing burning in a trash hobo which they extinguished.
• Firefighters responded to Magnolia Manor Nursing Center to the report of a possible structure fire. They were told by personnel they had found a light ballast that was smoking.
• Firefighters removed a tree limb from the roadway at Douglas Circle and Ridge Street.
• Firefighters responded to Rigas Road to a large tree blocking the roadway.
• Firefighters responded to power lines down on South Hampton Street. It was a cable line in a yard.
• Firefighters responded to South Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to a report of smoke in a residence. They found the AC unit was blowing out fog, not smoke.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on Laurel Circle caused by someone burning pizza in the oven.
• Firefighters responded to Barnum Drive to a report of an odor. No hazards were found with a has detector.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident on North Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident at Adderton Street and Armory Drive.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident at Angus Drive and Rees Street.

• Firefighters responded to Peggyanne Drive to a report of a power line down. They found wind damage to a section of the carport.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident at East Lamar and Prince streets.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on North Jackson Street. They disabled the system and advised personnel on scene to contact the alarm company.
• Firefighters responded to Pinecrest Drive to a report of a structure fire. They found light gray smoke coming from the unoccupied structure. All the doors were locked. They forced entry and found heavy smoke and a light fire coming from food left on the stove. They extinguished it.

• Eddie M. Walker, 36, of 710 Sunny Dale Circle, Americus is charged with violation of headlight requirements, driving while license is suspended or revoked and giving false identification information to law enforcement, and was jailed.
