Phoebe Sumter to host 12th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Walk on Saturday

AMERICUS — Phoebe Sumter Medical Center will host its 12th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Walk on Saturday, Oct. 24, beginning at Lenny’s Farmer Market, located at 110 N. Hampton St. in downtown Americus.This year’s theme is “Supporting a Cure.” The walk is free and open to the public.
Registration is at 8 a.m. and the walk begins at 9 a.m. The walk will have three routes, each beginning and ending at Lenny’s Farmer Market. The keynote speaker will be Patricia Fennessy, MD, of Phoebe Sumter Obstetrics & Gynecology Associates.
Breast cancer awareness t-shirts are currently available for purchase at the Phoebe Sumter hostess desk, and t-shirts will be available for purchase the day of the walk, while supplies last. T-shirts prices range from $10 to $15. You do not have to purchase a t-shirt to participate in the walk.
