Americus Fire & Emergency Service

• Firefighters responded to 20 calls for medical assistance.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on East Furlow Street. They found light gray smoke and a small pot fire on the stove, which they smothered.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center, 2001 Nursing Center Drive, where they found an A/C unit was being worked on.
• Firefighters responded to Fulton Street to a fire in a yard. They found a small pile of clothes burned. According to the report, the clothes had been intentionally burned due to an altercation between the residents. They were both cited for illegally burning within the city limits.
• Firefighters responded to Bush Circle to a report of smoke in the area. Bystanders showed them a small pile of leaves that had been burning.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident on West Forsyth Street.
• Firefighters responded to a report of power lines down on Brinson Street. It turned out to be a false report.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident on Tripp Street.
• Firefighters responded to the report of an electrical problems on Norris Circle.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident at Southerfield Road and Horton Drive.
• Firefighters responded to a smoke detector alarm on Lonnie Lane. The occupant advised it had been set off by cooking. They responded again shortly after to the same location and installed a new detector.
• Firefighters responded to McCoy Street to a report of a possible structure fire. There they were advised the occupant was inside and was unable to walk but had smelled smoke. They found an overheated pot on the stove. They removed smoke from the structure.
• Firefighters responded to Winn Street to a report of power lines down. They found a phone line in the road.

• Travis K. Anthony, 35, of 107 Appleblossom Lane, Americus is charged with seat belt violation and driving while licenses is suspended or revoked.
• Chavion J. Baisden, 22, of 336 S. Hampton St., Americus was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
• Edmond J. Banks, 21, of 347 King Drive, No. 54, Plains is charged with speeding and DUI.
• Arthur Brown, 19, of 929 U.S. Highway 19 South, Americus is charged with failure to yield at intersection of roadways, and hit and run.
• Brittany K. Brown, 20, of 229 Horton Drive, Americus is charged with failure to signal when turning or changing lanes, driving while license is suspended or revoked and violation of child restraint.
• Cordaro L. Campbell, 29, of 916 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Americus is charged with parole violation and two counts of violation of child support order, and was jailed.
• Joseph Daniel III, 21, of 321 W. Patterson St., Americus is charged with violation of tire requirements and window tint violation.
• Brandon K. Douglas, 23, of 2008 Armory Drive, Americus is charged with aggravated stalking and obstruction of law enforcement officer, and was jailed.
• Yancie Gonzales, 59, of 336 Centerpoint Road, Preston is charged with fire on a private lot.
• Guy Green, 34, of Macon was arrested on a probation warrant.
• Melissa J. Harvey of 140 Lonnie Lane, No. 221, Americus is charged with disorderly conduct.
• Montavious M. Holley of Leesburg is charged with failure to obey traffic control devices.
• James R. Jenkins, 43, of 705 Felder St., Americus is charged with theft by taking, and was jailed.
• Bernice Johnson, 54, of 109 Azalea Drive, Americus is charged with driving while license is suspended or revoked.
• Dantrell D. Jordan, 20, of 1529 Hooks Mill Road, Leslie is charged with receipt/possession of transfer of firearm by a convicted felon or felony first offender and misdemeanor of marijuana, and was jailed.
• A juvenile was charged with misdemeanor theft by taking on Academy Street.
• Two juveniles were charged with entering auto on Pineview Drive.
• A juvenile was charged with criminal damage to property on Westside Drive.
• A juvenile was charged with unruliness on Ga. Highway 27 East.
• A juvenile was charged with entering auto with intent to commit a theft or felony at Walmart Supercenter.
• Kenyatta R. Lester, 28, of 103 Knollwood Drive, Americus is charged with terroristic threats and acts, and was jailed.
• David A. Marshall, 22, of Columbus is charged with driving while license is suspended or revoked, no proof of insurance and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
• Elizabeth U. Oji, 32, of 219 Brookdale Drive, Americus is charged with inoculation/registration/tagging of animals, and restraint of dogs and prohibition against nuisances.
• Charles A. Patterson, 46, of Cordele is charged with possession of marijuana and illegal possession of cocaine, and was jailed.
• Andre Pierce, 50, of 1708 Armory Drive, Americus is charged with terroristic threats and acts, simple battery of age 65 or older and criminal trespass, and was jailed.
• Brandon J. Pool, 29, of 260 Holman Road, Leslie is charged with violation of headlight requirements and DUI.
• Tyrone C. Pride, 35, of 235 Brookdale Drive, Americus is charged with open container and non-compliance, and was released on bond.
• Tyrone Robinson, 35, of 111 Holly Drive, Americus is charged with no helmet, failure to stop at stop sign, fleeing or attempting to elude police and driving while license is suspended or revoked.
• Travis L. Stone, 32, of 122 Lexington Circle, Americus is charged with disorderly conduct and public intoxication.
• Jontae T. Thomas, 30, of 109 Sun Valley Drive, Apt. 2, Americus is charged with DUI, driving while license is suspended or revoked, open container and misdemeanor theft by shoplifting, and was jailed.
• Crystal L. Tookes, 26, of 207-B Lakeview Circle, Americus is charged with fourth-degree forgery, and was released on bond.
• Kalvin Turner, 18, of 1701 Maxwell St., Americus is charged with simple battery.
• Jimmy K. Varnum III of 810 Fulton St., Americus is charged with following too closely.
• Ashley Welborn, 18, of 140 Lonnie Lane, No. 223, Americus is charged with disorderly conduct.
• Cherry M. Williams, 46, of 102-A Waitsman Drive, Americus is charged with misdemeanor theft by shoplifting.
• Leonardo Davinci Williams, 50, of 230 U.S. Highway 280 West, Americus is charged with misdemeanor obstruction of law enforcement officer, and was jailed.
