AMERICUS — The following food service inspections were conducted recently by Sumter County Environmental Health.
• Wendy’s, 1201 Crawford St., Americus — Aug. 5 — 87 B
— Observed cheese sauce on hot-hold unit at approximately 85-90 degrees F. Discussed with PIC that cheese should be reheated in microwave to 165 degrees F. prior to putting on hot-hold unit. Cheese was removed and reheated. Temperature was checked about 15 minutes later and was 120 degrees F. in center and warmer on outer edges, 132-138 degrees F. Corrective action: Cheese will be reheated in microwave and stirred well to distribute heat evenly, to 165 degrees F. Cheese will be held at 135 degrees F. or hotter for hot-holding. — Observed employee in food prep area with no hair restraint. Employees prepping/handling food must wear or hair net to restrain hair. Corrective action: Employee put on hair net. Corrected On-Site.
