ANDERSON, S.C. — Mrs. Josie Bankston, 93, originally of Hartwell, Ga., peacefully passed away on Oct. 23, 2015, in Anderson, South Carolina. Funeral services and interment will be held graveside at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015, in Oak Grove Cemetery. The Rev Wendy Peacock will officiate.
Mrs. Bankston was born on July 11, 1922, the daughter of the late William Clarence Robinson and the late Eva Irene Devane Robinson in Lakeland, Florida. She was a homemaker and a Tog shop seamstress. She attended the Hartwell First United Methodist Church in Hartwell, Ga.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy Cannady and her husband Jerry of Hartwell, Ga.; and two sisters, Christine Callaghan of Covington, Va., and Mozelle Dean of Lafayette, Ala.; a sister-in-law, Marie Robinson of New Port News, Va.; three grandchildren, Jerry Cannady Jr. of Auburn, Ga., Dr. Catherine Miller and her husband Chris of Chapin, South Carolina, and Michael Cannady and his wife Michelle of Cumming, Ga.; five great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased in death by her parents William and Eva Robinson; husband Thomas Gaines Bankston; a sister, Mary Mask and a brother, William Robinson.
