Americus Fire & Emergency Services

• Firefighters responded to 32 calls for medical assistance.
• Firefighters responded to the report of a possible structure fire on McGarrah Street where they found an unattended grill next to the building.
• Firefighters responded to wires in the roadway on Brannen Avenue.
• Firefighters responded to Crawford Street to a gas spill.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on Swett Avenue.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident at North Lee and East Lamar streets.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident at East Lamar Street and Lonnie Lane.
• Firefighters responded to Hosanna Circle where they found several small piles of smoldering leaves. They advised the occupants of the City’s no-burn policy and they began to extinguish the fires. A fight broke our between two of the occupants so firefighters remained on scene until police arrived.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident on Ga. Highway 27 East.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident at East Lamar Street and Thomas Drive.
• Firefighters responded to a report of a possible structure fire on Bell Street. They found an occupant who said sparks were coming from the stove element. He was advised to replace the element.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on West Forsyth Street which turned out to be a false alarm.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on Brinson Street. There was no fire.
• Firefighters responded to a stove fire on Cherokee Street which was caused by food left on the stove.

• Shenequa J. Hall, 21, of 121 Wilson St., Leslie is charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana, and was released on bond.
• Tykendrick C. Johnson, 30, of 111 Bronco Drive, Americus is charged with expired or no registration or title, failure to maintain insurance and driving while license is suspended or revoked, and was released on bond.
• Nirobia K. Lavant, 19, of Cordele is charged with DUI, violation of head light requirements and misdemeanor possession of marijuana, and was released on bond.
• Trevor D. Lee, 21, of Macon is charged with speeding and driving while license is suspended or revoked, and was released on bond.
• James B. Perry, 45, homeless is charged with theft by shoplifting and obstruction of law enforcement officer, and was jailed.
• Tavares A, Reynolds, 34, of 722 N. Lee St., Americus is charged with felony failure to appear in court for a finger printable charged, and was jailed.
• Deairel M. Richardson, 22, of 111 Guss St., Leslie is charged with misdemeanor failure to appear in court for a finger printable charge, and was released on bond.
• Anthony T. Thomas, 51, of Dalton is charged with probation violation, and was jailed.
• Ronquillo T. Wilson, 35, of 166 W. Rockhill Drive, Americus is charged with public drunkenness and obstruction of law enforcement officer, and was released on bond.
