Each year on Gingerbread Day, Southland Academy first-grade students, teachers, and parents share the fun of decorating elaborate gingerbread houses. The students traditionally display their creations at the Elementary Christmas Program and Breakfast with Santa for all to admire. Later, they visit area nursing homes for Christmas caroling and at that time, they present the houses to the residents to enjoy during the holidays.
