Students in Janet Studdard’s Spanish I classes at Americus-Sumter High School enjoyed creating calaveras de azúcar which are sugar skulls, one of the many traditional foods prepared for el día de los muertos (the Day of the Dead), a time to celebrate with the souls of deceased family and friends.
