Missing body found in Muckalee Creek

AMERICUS – Early on the morning of Feb. 28. local police uncovered the body of a man in the Americus area. The body was found in the Muckalee Creek area and is suspected to be that of an individual who disappeared into the woods behind Three Squares Diner on Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. on Feb. 3.
As of this writing, no positive confirmation has been made on the individual’s identity. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is currently attempting to make a positive identification of the body.
The body was found with the assistance of k-9 units from North Georgia.
