AMERICUS — Barry Blount, City president of SB&T in Americus, made a donation to the South Georgia Technical College (SGTC) Foundation recently in support of the college’s 2016 Instructor of the Year program.
Each year SB&T presents the winner of the SGTC Instructor of the Year award with a stipend. This year SGTC computer information systems Instructor Andrea Ingram was named Instructor of the Year for the college. Ingram was recognized by SGTC Acting President Janice Davis at the 2016 Rick Perkins Instructor of the Year Award breakfast in front of her peers.
Blount presented the donation to Ingram on behalf of SB&T during the breakfast.
“SB&T is proud to support South Georgia Technical College and its excellent instructor with this stipend, said Blount. “As the son of an educator, I appreciate what instructors do for our community. This is SB&T’s way of giving back for your work with your students and our community. We are pleased to support South Georgia Tech and partner with an organization that is responsible for preparing a better workforce for our community.”
SGTC Acting President Davis thanked SB&T’s Blount for his support of this program.
“We appreciate SB&T’s partnership with South Georgia Technical College and their continued support to the Instructor of the Year program,” said Davis.
Newly named Instructor of the Year Andrea Ingram thanked SB&T for the generous donation.
