ATLANTA — Incumbent Mike Cheokas, R-Americus, qualified to run for re-election to the State House so he can continue serving the people of Sumter, Schley, Marion and Chattahoochee counties.
Cheokas issued the following statement.
“It has truly been the greatest honor of my life to serve you as your voice at the State Capitol, and I am proud of my record of delivering for the people of this district.
“Time and time again, I have secured vital resources for our community — from resources for transportation to funding for Georgia Southwestern and South Georgia Technical College.
“I have fought to grow our economy by promoting small business, working to attract jobs, limiting the size of government and keeping taxes low.
“I have also provided a conservative voice to protect and expand our 2nd Amendment rights and preserve our religious liberties.
“Most importantly, I have been accessible and accountable to you.”
