“Take Back the Night” 5K to be held at GSW April 8

AMERICUS – The Georgia Southwestern State University women, gender, and sexuality studies program will be holding a “Take Back the Night” 5K run/walk and candle-lighting ceremony on April 8 on GSW campus.
Registration for the event will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the GSW lake house, located on campus. The race is scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m.
The cost of sponsorship for the event is $30 per runner, and includes the sponsor’s logo on a commemorative T-shirt and the name and logo of the company on the runner’s race bib.
All proceeds from the event will go to support Albany Domestic Violence Shelters.
The route of the 5K will take runners from the lake house around the perimeter of campus.
A candle-lighting service will be held following the race in honor of survivors of domestic violence.
