No. 18-ranked GSW golf takes 4th at PBC championship, Chamineak wins All-Tournament honors

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla.- Ethan Chamineak made All-Tournament at the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Championships on April 16 to lead the nationally-ranked Georgia Southwestern men’s golf team to a fourth place finish.
Chamineak posted a three-round, one-under par score of 215 to finish tied for second place in the tournament, which places him as the highest individual conference winner in GSW history. Craig Gibbson finished tied for third at the 2012 PBC tournament with a three-round score of 216 and Matt Whittaker tied for third at the 2013 PBC championship with a score of 218.
The No. 18-ranked Hurricanes posted a three-round score of 898 and tied their PBC Championship best finish. They placed fourth in 2013 with an 888.
GSW finished six strokes behind third place No. 12, USC Aiken, and were 23 stokes behind No. 15, Flager, who took second place. Columbus captured the win with a three-round score of 873.
Nicholas Ward moved up six spots to finish tied for 14th place with a three-round score of 225, his best PBC tournament finish so far. Anders Olsson finished one stroke behind Ward, posting a score of 226 to finish tied for 16th place, his best PBC Championship finish.
The Hurricanes, currently ranked No. 4 in the Southeast Region, now await an at-large selections for the upcoming NCAA South/Southeast Regional on May 2-4 at El Campeon in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.
