2016-17 Raider JV cheerleaders selected

AMERICUS — The Southland Academy Junior Varsity cheerleaders for the upcoming school year have recently been selected. The girls were chosen on their gymnastic, jumping, cheer, dance, and spirit skills. Susan Welch is the head cheerleading coach at Southland.
The junior varsity squad includes five rising eighth-graders: Sara Bass, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bass Jr., of Americus; Jordan Brehm, daughter of Danielle Huddleston of Leslie; Carson Clements, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Plez H. Hardin of Americus and David Clements of Leesburg; Addison Starlin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ander Starlin of Americus; and Georgia Torbert, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Torbert of Americus.
The junior varsity squad also includes three rising seventh-graders: Lydia Anne Love, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jason Love of Americus; Averi Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Deke Smith of Americus; and Betsy Scott Turner, daughter of Jill Turner and Brian Turner, of Americus.
