2nd murder suspect arrested

AMERICUS — A second individual has been arrested and charged in the May 19 murder of Cliff Jones, 28, of Americus at 929 Ridge St.
Assistant Special Agent in Charge Terry Howard of the Region 3 Americus office of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), confirmed the arrest occurred Thursday when Jon-admad Harris, 25, of 915 Davenport St., Americus, was taken into custody and charged with murder. Harris is incarcerated at the Sumter County Jail.
The investigation began the afternoon of May 19 at 929 Ridge St. The Americus Police Department, the GBI, and the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office asked the community for help in locating the suspect: Timothy A. Myrick, 31, of 143 Cherokee St. Americus was located and arrested later that day and remains in jail, charged with murder, kidnapping, rape, and third-degree cruelty to children.
Authorities identified Vanessa S. Charles, 26, as having been kidnapped from the murder scene and later discovered in Lee County.
The investigation is ongoing.
