AMERICUS  — Mr. Bruce Paul Poudrier, age 61, passed away on Thursday evening, July 7, 2016, at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center.

Services were at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 11, at First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Sommer Bower and the Rev. Deb Bibler  officiated, with Mr. Lenard Martin and Mrs. Candy Riccardi providing musical accompaniment. Burial was private.

Members of the Eta Theta Chapter of Sigma Chi are requested to serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family received friends on Monday at First Presbyterian Church immediately following the services, or at the home of Lisa and Rod Collins, 224-B Ga. Highway 49 North in Americus.

Born May 27, 1955, in Fort Benning, Ga., he was a son of the late Gerald E. “Jerry” Poudrier and Susan Forney Poudrier.  He was retired from Hubbell Lighting where he worked as a quotes manager, and had previously been employed by Cooper Lighting.

Mr. Poudrier was a proud father who loved his daughter and granddaughter very much. He was an active member of First Presbyterian Church, where he served as a youth group leader, and was a member of Sigma Chi. He was athletically inclined, and was the founder of the Easy Striders Running Club.

Survivors include one daughter, Courtney Bateman (Ty) of Wilmington, N.C.; one granddaughter, Molly Bateman of Wilmington; one sister, Lisa Collins (Rod) of Americus; one brother, Tom Poudrier of Atlanta; and one aunt, Maryellen Luff of Tampa, Fla.
