AMERICUS —  Representatives from sister companies PharmaCentra and Concentra Solutions have confirmed the formal transfer of their home base from metro Atlanta to Americus. The announcement is not a total surprise, since both firms’ U.S. operations and personnel have become increasingly centered in the Sumter County town. Having begun an Americus presence with a call center in 2008, momentum for the headquarters shift has been building incrementally over the past three years. A move to expanded facilities in 2014 resulted in housing the companies’ entire IT infrastructure under one roof.
Dan Berman, founder and CEO of PharmaCentra and Concentra Solutions, notes, “In the eight years we have had our operations in Americus, I have come to appreciate the assets available to our business to help us grow. The community has helped PharmaCentra and Concentra Solutions thrive, and this formal move of our headquarters affirms our mutual commitment.”
Kim Christmas, PharmaCentra and Concentra Solutions vice president of Human Resources and Community Relations, adds, “We have increased staffing in the Americus operations center by 73 percent in the past two years and have been actively recruiting at Georgia Southwestern State University and South Georgia Technical College. We organize our employees’ participation in such local activities as Relay for Life, volunteering at Magnolia Manor, Love & Mercy Outreach Ministry food/clothing drives and many others. Our employees are also strongly encouraged to take advantage of educational and leadership programs facilitated by the Americus Sumter County Chamber of Commerce and the Archway Partnership, including Advancing Sumter, Leadership Sumter and the Chamber Challenge weight loss program.
“The relocation of the PharmaCentra and Concentra Solutions headquarters to Sumter County is another example of the companies’ dedication to our community and our workforce over the last eight years,” says Barbara Grogan, executive director of the Sumter County Payroll Development Authority. “Employing over 200 community members, the companies also contribute to our local economy beyond payroll by having made significant capital investment in Sumter County. Dan Berman and his entire team represent the type of business and industry partners who are pivotal to the success of the community and its citizens.”
