AMERICUS — The Sumter County Chamber of Commerce announces a new direction and vision for expanded service to the Sumter County business community, naming Randy Moore as director of Marketing and events and Ivy Oliver as the director of Member Services.
Moore, who comes to the Chamber with more than 18 years’ experience in event management, production and marketing, most recently served as executive director of the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter (GNFA) in Perry. Retiring in December with over 25 years in executive level management with the state of Georgia, Moore guided GNFA to record attendance at the 1,100-acre facility, supporting a year-round calendar of special events, concerts, trade shows, corporate events and livestock expositions. Prior to his work at the Fairgrounds, Moore served as the facility administrator for the Georgia General Assembly, coordinating facility operations for the Legislative Services Committee. He joins Sumter’s economic development team, which includes the Chamber of Commerce, Sumter County Payroll Development Authority and the One Sumter Economic Development Foundation Inc., where he will spearhead the groups’ focus on marketing, communications and special events.
Along with Moore, Ivy Oliver will provide strategic support to the Chamber’s renewed emphasis on value-added service to the business community as the new director of Member Services.
With the Chamber of Commerce since 2010, Oliver will provide direct support to the Membership Division, as well as the new Business Development Division and Special Events Division. Tasked with enhancing service to existing and new members, Oliver will facilitate new programming and training opportunities aimed at business needs throughout Sumter County. As the Chamber seeks to expand support to the greater business community, Oliver’s experience in membership recruitment and retention will continue to be an asset with existing and potential members alike.
“Randy and Ivy create a perfect team in leading the Chamber and providing resources to the business community of Sumter County. Randy’s background in marketing and event management, coupled with Ivy’s expertise in member services, only increases our ability to engage business and create a thriving community here in Sumter County. We are proud to have them on our team!” Says Jay Roberts, chairman of the Sumter County Chamber of Commerce.
The Sumter County Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to creating an engaged business community, which works collaboratively for a dynamic economy and thriving Sumter County. With Moore and Oliver as drivers of that strategy, Sumter County is well positioned to support business growth and facilitate partnerships to spur sense of place and community.
