Two candidates’ forums set for public

AMERICUS — Two candidates’ forums have been scheduled to educate the public for the Nov. 8 General Election.
A Candidates’ Forum is planned for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6 at the City of Americus Public Safety Building, 119 S. Lee St. The date of the Forum has been set to precede the voter registration deadline and early voting for the November Election.
Invited participants include candidates for the Georgia State Senate, Georgia State House of Representatives, Sumter County Board of Commissioners, and Sumter County Coroner whose names will appear on the Nov. 8 ballot.
The Forum is sponsored by the Omicron Alpha Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. and the pastors and lay leaders of Sumter County.
The public is encouraged to attend, ask questions and learn the candidates’ positions on various issues.
At 6 p.m. Oct. 17, the Sumter County Chamber of Commerce hosts a Candidates’ Forum in the Rosalynn Carter Health and Human Sciences Complex Auditorium at Georgia Southwestern State University.
