Democratic candidate for the U. S. Senate, Jim Barksdale, was in Americus campaigning on Tuesday afternoon. Sumter County Democratic Party Chair, Willie Golphin is shown giving the candidate a token of support from the County Party as they have given in support of all Democratic candidates on the ballot. Several of the community leaders and interested citizens who attended the Meet ‘N Greet at the Cafe Campesino Coffee House, downtown, heard his remarks about national and international issues, state party politics, industry, agriculture and trade concerns were from Marion, Macon, Dooley, Crisp and Sumter counties.
