AMERICUS — GradSource.com has released their list of “Best Online Master’s Programs in Computer Science” and Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) ranks second in the nation. The university’s online master of science in computer science degree program also earned the No. 1 ranking in affordability.
“We are proud about this No. 2 ranking,” said Boris Peltsverger, Ph.D., dean of the School of Computing and Mathematics. “The methodology behind the ranking considers factors like flexibility, tuition cost and student success. Our graduate program in computer science, which is fully online, is among the most affordable in the state.
“Because the school’s computer infrastructure is directly connected to the USG network – Peachnet – it is able to create up to 100 virtual workstations and servers loaded with required software. This allows each graduate student in the program to have a personal virtual workstation, whether online or on campus.”
Recently, GSW’s online bachelor of science in information technology has been ranked as one of the Top 20 “Best Buys” in the country by GetEducated.com.
The university’s School of Computing and Mathematics has received recognition and financial grants from several national high-tech companies and associations, including NASA, NCR, AT&T, Microsoft, Motorola, FIPSE and the National Science Foundation.
