AMERICUS – The South Georgia Technical College Jets (SGTC) Booster Club hosted a special Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings for the Jets and Lady Jets basketball teams recently at Central Baptist Church in Americus.
Former SGTC Jets head coach, Steven Wright, who is now an associate pastor at Central Baptist Church, brought a motivational message about giving thanks daily and also about earning a name that individuals can be proud of not just on the basketball court, or in college, but in life.
The Jets and the Lady Jets will both be participating in basketball competitions during the Thanksgiving holidays and will be unable to spend the holiday with their families.
“The Jets Booster Club wanted each of you to know that you are a part of the South Georgia Tech family and a part of our families,” said Jets Booster Club Officer, Martha Arrington, at the special Thanksgiving celebration. “We wanted you to know that we appreciate you and think that you have chosen a wonderful college and a wonderful place to continue your education while you play basketball.”
The Booster Club members and their families provided the Thanksgiving meal and visited with the players and coaches during the banquet. The Jets and the Lady Jets will be hosting Thanksgiving Basketball Classic tournaments at the Hangar on SGTC campus on Nov. 25-27.
The Jets will host their Thanksgiving Classic Tournament on Nov. 25-26 and the Lady Jets Thanksgiving Classic will be held on Nov, 26-27.
