The Schley County Parks and Recreation Department’s (PRD) nine and 10-year-old football program has made quite a splash this year.
Most recently, Schley’s young gridiron stars headed to Tifton on Nov. Nov. 21 to earn a 59-25 victory over their Macon County counterparts in the Turkey Bowl Playoffs. According to reports, the Schley crew forced three fumbles in the match-up and managed to convert each one into a touchdown in the heated rivalry match-up.
With this victory, which comes on the heels of another substantial win over the Macon County PRD, the Schley crew emerged as the District Three champions.
With their impressive performance so far on the season, the Schley boys have earned a spot in the state playoffs, scheduled to begin on Dec. 10 in Savannah.
