• Firefighters responded to 37 calls for medical assistance.
• Firefighters responded to Roland Avenue to a report of a low-hanging power line. They found a cable line hanging low in the roadway.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on East Church Street. They found that renovations were underway, and that a wall and floor sander had activated the alarm.
• Firefighters responded to a report of a stove fire on Eastview Circle. The fire was out on arrival; they found an element in the stove had shorted out.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident on North Lee Street. They used oil dry on leaking fluids.
• Firefighters responded to a report of a gas leak at Mayo and East Jefferson streets. No hazards were found.
• Firefighters responded to Barnum Drive to a report of smoke inside a structure. The occupants advised they had smelled an odor of wires burning. Upon investigation, they advised occupants to contact an electrician.
• Firefighters responded to North Hampton Street to a report of a house fire. Upon arrival, they found smoke coming from a ventilation stack on the roof. The occupant told them they had a wood burning stove inside the structure. No hazards were found.
• Firefighters responded to Bell Street and Oak Avenue to a burn complaint. The people there advised it a fire in preparation for a barbecue grill.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on East Forsyth Street. No hazards were found.
• Firefighters responded to Columbia Avenue to a report of a grass fire. It had been extinguished before they arrived.
• Firefighters responded to Parker Street to a report of a fuse box making a popping noise. No hazards were found but they advised occupant to shut off the breaker box and contact an electrician.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident on Knollwood Drive. It is under investigation.

• Mary A. Lyles, 40, of 306 Pineview Drive, Americus is charged with disorderly conduct, and was released on bond.
• Timothy S. Mallard, 28, of 113 Ga. Highway 27 East, C-4, Americus is charged with disorderly conduct.
• Vinson M. Mann, 37, of 741-A Middle River Road, Americus is charged with disorderly conduct.
• John C. Sandifer, 49, of Saraland, Ala., is charged with battery, and was jailed.
• Jeffrey W. Sapp, 53, of Cordele is charged with second-degree burglary, and was jailed.
• Fannie M. Shingles, 41, of 119 Ron Circle, No. 9, Americus is charged with disorderly conduct, possession of firearm or knife during commission of or attempt to commit certain felonies, and terroristic threats and acts, and was jailed.
• Gregory J. Shingles, 20, of 897 Ebenezer Road, Ellaville is charged with disorderly conduct, and was jailed.
• Jocelyn D. Shingles, 18, of 119 Ron Circle, No. 9, Americus is charged with disorderly conduct, and was jailed.
• Christopher A. Sims, 44, of 1207 Oglethorpe Ave., Americus is charged with terroristic acts and threats, and misdemeanor theft by taking, and was jailed.
• Harry Washington, 55, homeless is charged with public intoxication, and was jailed.
• Narrada M. Waters, 29, of 1416 N. Lee St., Americus is charged with misdemeanor theft by receiving stolen property, and reckless conduct, and was jailed.
• Bobbie J. Woods, 63, of 129 S. Dudley St., Americus is charged with DUI.
