AMERICUS — Brandon DeWitt Williams, 20, of Americus, died Sunday, April 30, 2017. He was born Nov.  21, 1996, in Americus to Hope Griggs and Doug Williams. He loved baseball, being with his friends and family, and cooking.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 6, 2017, at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel in Americus with the Rev. Steve Golden officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Friday, May 5, 2017, at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel.

Survivors include his parents: Hope and Mark Griggs of Americus and Doug Williams of Leslie; a sister, Jessica Griggs of Americus; three brothers: Tyler Williams of Leslie, Johnathan Griggs of Americus, and Jordan Griggs of Blakely. Also surviving are maternal grandparents: Delores and Barry Melly of Barnesville, and Rex and Connie Griggs of Ellaville; maternal great-grandmother, Martha Skinner of Americus; an uncle, Alvin Carlisle of Washington; and a great-uncle, Robert Skinner of Americus. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Joyce Williams of Americus; an aunt, Linda Britt of Americus; and maternal great-grandfather, Jerry Skinner of Americus.
