ASHS celebrates “College and Career Signing Day”

AMERICUS – Americus-Sumter High School recently held its annual “College and Career Signing Day” ceremony to observe and recognize several ASHS students who have been admitted to college or recruited into the military. The ceremony lasted over an hour with more than one hundred people in attendance. Sumter County Schools Superintendent, Dr. Torrance Choates, addressed the students, praising them for taking the next step in their career development. Assistant Superintendent, Walter Knighton, and ASHS Principal, Kimothy Hadley, also spoke to the students, offering congratulations and encouragement for moving on to their next step in career building. This year’s group of signees was the largest in recent memory, with a total of thirty students participating in the ceremony. Afterward, students posed for photos with friends, family, and recruiters.
