• Firefighters responded to five calls for medical assistance.
• Firefighters responded to a cloth smoking in the roadway on Tripp Street. They put a half a bottle of water on the t-shirt.
• Firefighters responded to Ridge Street to a report of a gas odor. No hazards were found.
• Firefighters responded to a report of a structure fire on Waitsman Drive. They found light gray smoke inside the residence and were told something had burned in the microwave.

• Firefighters responded to 49 calls for medical assistance.
• Firefighters responded a traffic accident on Crawford Street.
• Firefighters responded a traffic accident at South Lee and East College streets. They used oil dry on the ground to contain oil and radiator fluid leakages, and assisted in clearing the roadway of debris.
• Firefighters responded a traffic accident on South Lee Street.
• Firefighters responded Lonnie Lane to a report of a brush or grass fire. They found a wooded area fully engulfed in flames. They extinguished the fire.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident East Glessner Street and Perimeter Road.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on North Jackson Street. No hazards were found.
• Firefighters responded to a report of trees down at Hancock and Pecan drives where they found a large tree lying onto a powerline with smoke, flames and arcing visible. They closed the road and requested traffic control from the police department.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on Varsity Drive where they found a faulty detector.
• Firefighters responded to traffic accident on East Forsyth Street.
• Firefighters responded to a Pine Avenue residence to a report of smoke inside. They found a water heater was emitting a large amount of steam, not smoke.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident on South Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard involving a motorcycle.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on Smith Street where they found a smoke detector that had been activated by cooking.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on West Forsyth Street caused by someone cooking.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm at the Sumter County Health Department at 1601 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Bvld. where someone had activated a pull station.
• Firefighters responded to a trash can fire on East Lamar Street.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center, 2001 S. Lee St. It was a test.
• Firefighters responded to Sumter County Head Start, 300 Cherokee St. which was activated by someone pulling the system. No hazards were found.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident on East Forsyth Street.
• Firefighters responded to Sheffield Street to a report of a structure fire. They found an overheated motor in the A/C.
