Sumter Players to present ‘Heaven Can Wait’

AMERICUS — Sumter Players is preparing for its final show for this season May 11-14 at the Rylander Theater. The season ends with the 2:30 p.m. Sunday matinee performance.
“Heaven Can Wait” is a play written by Harry Segall and tells the story of Joe Pendleton whose spirit is taken mistakenly taken from his body too soon. The story takes many twists and comical turns as Ms. Jordan tries to find an appropriate body to put Joe’s sprit into. Murder, intrigue and love make “Heaven Can Wait” as must see. The play features many of Sumter Players “regulars” but a number of newcomers are making their Sumter Players debut.
The cast includes Ande Ross as Joe Pendleton, Ellen Cotter as Ms. Jordan, Hannah Pendergrass as Messenger 7013, Alexis Young as Julia Farnsworth, Justin Fisher as Tony Abbott, Jennifer Hopkins as Bette Logan, Jonathan McCracken as Max Levene, Elizabeth Gurnack as Mrs. Ames, Lily Ingle as Susie, Wade Barr as Williams, Ryan Mournighan as Lefty, Moses Simmons as first escort/workman, Julia Skala as second escort/Ann, Edward Brown as third escort, Megan Dolan as nurse, Mark Simmons as plain clothesman and Richard Ingle as doctor.
