ASHS students featured in Kids Under Construction

AMERICUS — Americus-Sumter High School (ASHS) recently filmed its annual “Kids Under Construction” segment at the television studio at Georgia Southwestern State University. Seven students and two teachers were featured in two 30-minute segments, discussing recent successes celebrated by the high school.
In the first segment Lee Kinnamon and his Academic Bowl Team discussed their recent victory in Plains at the Jimmy Carter National Historic Site. Kinnamon was accompanied by three students from his team. The “Academic Bowl” segment participants were Melvin Wiggins, Charlotte Schopen-Davis, and Jasmine Dew.
In segment two, the ASHS all-female engine building team shared details about their recent win in Tennessee. The “Engine Build” segment participants were Tyler Brown, Emily Given, Katti Ingle, and Chaneylynn Smith. The faculty sponsor for this group is ASHS teacher, Frederick Mohl.
The 2017 ASHS Kids Under Construction segments will be aired in the near future on GSW-TV, a public access channel run by Georgia Southwestern State University.
