AMERICUS — Patrick Kay, director of Americus Main Street and Downtown Development Authority, has been recognized with a Certificate of Achievement as a Main Street America Revitalization Professional by Main Street America.
Kay learned of this distinction earlier this week in a letter from Patrice Frey, president and CEO of National Main Street Center Inc.
“Congratulations on achieving the Main Street America Revitalization Professional (MSARP) credential, the highest credential currently available through the Main Street America Institute (MSAI). Your accomplishment marks an important milestone in your professional development journey and reflects your commitment to taking your leadership and commercial district management skills to the next level.
“The courses you completed over the past year illustrate your mastery of leadership development, community transformation, and your ability to apply that knowledge directly to your work. Attached is your certificate of completion as well as the MSARP logo file that you can add to your website, your email signature or social media accounts to alert your professional contacts of your unique expertise.”
Kay’s designation is a result of training comprised of 10 online classes (45 hours of class work), two multiday classes in Chicago and Milwaukee as well as tests and exams for all classes and final exam at the end. Participants must have a minimum of two years working experience as a director of a program. Kay has over 10 years of experience in downtown revitalization with eight of those years as a working director of a Main Street organization.
