(June 15-23)
• Firefighters responded to 35 calls for medical assistance.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident at Sun Valley Drive and East Forsyth Street.
• Firefighters responded to two alarms on Forrest Street. No hazards were found.
• Firefighters responded to the area of North Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Park Row to a report of small brush fire on the roadside. They found nothing.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm at Farmers Home Furniture, 1607 E. Forsyth St. It was found to have been activated accidentally by someone working on the building.
• Firefighters responded to Americus Garden Apartments, 730 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. to a report of an odor of gas. Upon entry, they detected a strong odor of gas but detection devices showed nothing. Management was advised to contact maintenance.
• Firefighters responded to Southerfield Road to a brush fire. The owner of the vacant lot told them the fire was in the county and he had a burn permit.
• Firefighters responded to the report of a structure fire on South Lee Street. The homeowner said she had noticed smoke coming from her living room ceiling fan. They determined the fan had overheated and advised homeowner to contact an electrician.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm the Rylander Theatre, 306 W. Lamar St. No hazards were found.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on Eastview Circle. They found that the internal panel box breakers for the A/C unit outside had been tripped.
• Firefighters responded to Martin Marietta Drive to a subject who had had a car fire earlier in the day. He had extinguished it himself but needed a report completed.
• Firefighters responded to Lonnie Lane to a report of a possible structure fire. They found no fire or smoke but an electrical malfunction in a breaker.
• Firefighters responded to Simmons Drive to unknown trouble. Nothing was found.
• Firefighters responded to Pinecrest Drive to a report of a small fire behind a residence. Nothing was found.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident at South Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and U.S. Highway 280 West.
• Firefighters responded to a report of a power line down on North Jackson Street. They found the line hanging low across the road and a fence. They blocked the roadway and contacted Georgia Power.
