AMERICUS — Synovus/SB&T announced that Buddy Guth has returned to the bank as commercial lender/market leader in Americus. He re-joins Synovus after five years with Ameris Bank, where he served most recently as senior vice president/business banker. Guth was previously with Synovus/SB&T from 1979 to 2012.
“With nearly 40 years in the financial services industry, Buddy is a deeply experienced banker and a great advocate for Americus/Sumter County,” said Pam Simmons, president & CEO of SB&T. “We couldn’t be prouder to welcome him back to Synovus/SB&T.”
Guth is a member of the SGTC Jets Booster Club Board, the Griffin Bell Golf Links Advisory Board, and the Americus Rotary Club, of which he previously served as president. He has also been associated with Americus & Sumter County Salvation Army, Sumter County Unit of American Cancer Society, Easter Seals of Southwest Georgia, United Way of Sumter County, and the Southland Academy Foundation.
Guth is a graduate of Georgia Southwestern College and The Graduate School of Banking at LSU.
