AMERICUS — Six Magnolia Manor campuses were recently awarded the Georgia Health Care Association (GHCA) Excellence in Action Award from NRC Health, a company helping healthcare organizations better understand the people they care for. Magnolia Manor of Columbus, Magnolia Manor of Macon, Magnolia Manor of St. Marys, Magnolia Manor of St. Simons, Magnolia Manor Inc., and Mattie H. Marshall Alzheimer’s Center were among 225 GHCA members who received the Excellence in Action Award.
“Our goal has always been to provide an exceptional level of care and support for our residents. These awards validate our efforts and inspire us to continue our mission,” said Magnolia Manor President and CEO, Mark R. Todd. For over 50 years, Magnolia Manor has been dedicated to promoting a healthy, happier lifestyle for senior adults. The mission is to serve through love and support for a lifetime. Employees follow the Servant Leadership Philosophy by leading from the heart and believing their job is to empower others to grow professionally, personally, and spiritually.”
“Congratulations to the 225 GHCA members who received the 2017 Excellence in Action Award,” said Tony Marshall, GHCA President AND CEO. “I applaud these members on this outstanding accomplishment and thank them for their continued dedication to the satisfaction of the residents entrusted to their care and the employees working at their centers.”
This honor, awarded exclusively to NRC Health post-acute clients, recognizes organizations that achieve the highest overall resident or employee satisfaction scores in the NRC Health database — the largest source of long-term care and senior-living satisfaction metrics in the nation. The number of GHCA members receiving the Excellence in Action Award makes Georgia the leading state in the nation for outstanding resident and employee satisfaction for the second consecutive year.
Qualifying skilled nursing, assisted living, and independent living communities must have completed a customer or workforce satisfaction survey in 2016. Winners must also have received a minimum of 10 responses (achieving a response rate of at least 30 percent). Their overall responses must have scored the organization within the top 10 percent of qualifying assisted living and independent living facilities and the top 20 percent of qualifying skilled nursing centers on either the question, “What is your recommendation of this facility to others?” or the question, “What is your recommendation of this facility as a place to work?” In Georgia, almost 18,000 residents and family members and 22,000 associates responded to the satisfaction survey.
The vision of Magnolia Manor is to make its communities about life and living. Residents have opportunities to take care of their body, mind, and spirit. The chaplaincy program allows for residents’ spiritual growth by providing pastoral care, along with worship and Bible study. Music, painting, and other creative activities help renew the mind. Its health and wellness centers provide programs to keep residents feeling young and active.
