AMERICUS – South Georgia Technical College (SGTC) is encouraging all students, parents, faculty, staff, retirees, and alumni to post selfies on social media showing how South Georgia Tech helps this community and its students “Take Off” in their education and careers. Fall semester registration began on August 10th so members of the SGTC community are encouraged to show college pride by posting their favorite programs, landmarks, or other items to social media and place #SouthGATech in the caption.
The “Take Off with South Georgia Technical College” social media photo contest, encourages individuals to take a selfie or post a photo on social media showing themselves at the college in a classroom or lab, with friends in front of a logo, sign, or campus icon, or wearing a uniform from their program area. Participants must tag South Georgia Technical College or use the #SouthGATech in order to be eligible for free prizes.
The social media sites that can be used include Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn. The photos or individuals with the most likes, shares, or retweets will be the winner. The promotional event has already begun and is scheduled to continue through September 1, 2017.
The first-place winner will receive a $100 SGTC bookstore gift card. Second place will receive a $50 SGTC gift card and the third-place winner will receive a South Georgia Technical College logo item such as umbrella, t-shirt, cooler, or insulated tumbler.
Outstanding photos may also be selected for special prizes throughout the contest and could be used as part of the college’s social media and marketing promotions. The college encourages members of the community to “Be a star today and show why South Georgia Technical College is a great place to learn in the “Take-Off with South Georgia Technical College!” social media contest”.
