Voter registration deadline is Tuesday

AMERICUS — With the Americus and Andersonville Municipal elections quickly approaching, voters residing in the city limits of Americus and Andersonville are reminded that the deadline to register to vote in the upcoming election is Tuesday, Oct. 10. Voters residing outside of the city limits of Americus or Andersonville will not be eligible to participate in the upcoming elections.
Early voting for both the Andersonville, and Americus elections will take place in the Offices of Elections and Registration in the Sumter County Courthouse beginning Oct. 16 and continuing until Nov. 3, 2017.  Voting will take place daily beginning at 8 a.m. and continuing until 5 p.m. every Monday through Friday of the early voting period. There will be no Saturday voting during this election.
On Election Day, Nov. 7, the polling places located at the Griffin Bell Golf and Conference Center, the Boone Park Recreation Center, and the Rees Park Economic Development Center in Americus will be open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. In Andersonville, the City Hall polling place will be open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. also.
