MACON — Mr. Howard W. “Bud” Harrod Jr., age 75, of Americus, died on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at Regency Hospital of Central Georgia. A native of Americus, he was born Dec. 27, 1942, in Americus to the late Howard Walker Harrod Sr. and Mary Hale Harrod. He was a member of Concord United Methodist Church and served in the United States Air Force; enjoyed woodworking, building engines, and was self-employed as an electrician for many years.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, May 6, 2018, at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel in Americus. The Rev. Chet Ragsdale will officiate the service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at 2 p.m. at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel. At other times, the family may be contacted at the home of Donna and Shannen Kitchens, 152 Quail Dr., Americus.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Shannen Kitchens of Americus; two sons and daughters-in-law: Bud and Karen Harrod and Jim and Heather Harrod, all of Americus; and a brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Linda Harrod of Plains. Also surviving are seven grandchildren: Abby Harrod, Kendall Harrod, Tyler Bailey, Alex Bailey, Cole Bailey, Addy Harrod, and Kensie Harrod.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sisters, Joyce Dalton and Gloria Partridge.
