AMERICUS — Caroline Carroll, Miss Presidential Pathways 2018, will be leaving Friday for Columbus for pageant week for the Miss Georgia Pageant.
Carroll graduated May 4 from The University of Georgia, magna cum laude, with a degree in political science and a degree in international affairs. She has been accepted to UGA School of Law, Class of 2012, and is so pleased to be a “Double Dawg”!
While an undergraduate at UGA, Carroll was a Georgette, dancing between the hedges for the Georgia Bulldogs in Athens. She also danced at away games, including the SEC Championship Game, the Rose Bowl, and the National Championship Game. She says that dancing and marching in the Rose Bowl Parade was a true highlight of her senior year! Carroll is also a member of Delta Delta Delta, where she served as philanthropy cochair and public relations co-chair.
Carroll served on the UGA Miracle Dance Marathon Committee for two years, helping to raise over $2 million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. She also volunteered with UGA Red Cross and continues to work with our local chapter of American Red Cross. She recently held a fund raiser for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and for the American Red Cross: Volunteer Forever. She also volunteers with Phoebe Sumter Medical Center, most recently with their “May is for Miracles” Project which raises money for the local hospital’s pediatric emergency rooms in the Emergency Department.
Volunteerism is an important aspect of Carroll’s life. She has been volunteering since she was a little girl. Through her experience with the Miss America Organization, she has seen how truly important giving back to one’s community can be. Volunteering can be life changing for the recipient and for the giver. She strives to encourage others to volunteer. She enjoys working with children to encourage them to see the difference one person can make, no matter their age, as long as they show acts of kindness to others.
Carroll will be representing her home county as Miss Presidential Pathways 2018, at the Miss Georgia Pageant in Columbus. She will have a personal interview, perform ballet en pointe as her talent, compete in lifestyle and fitness, as well as evening gown and on stage question. She invites everyone to attend the pageant June 12-16 at the RiverCenter in Columbus.
