Police make armed robbery arrests

MERICUS — The Americus Police Department has made two arrests in an armed robbery that occurred Tuesday night at a residence on Brinson Drive.
The victim told investigators that three subjects forced their way into his apartment and held him at gunpoint. The victim said he was struck once in the head with a gun and the robbers took some cash. He was transported to Phoebe Sumter Medical Center by ambulance where he was treated and released.
Arrested were Timothy Robinson, age 18, and a 16-year-old juvenile, both of Americus. Both are charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault. Robinson is also charge with of obstruction of an officer. Robinson was taken to the Sumter County Jail and the juvenile was transported to the Crisp Regional Youth Detention Center.
