AMERICUS — A deputy with the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office has been placed on administrative leave pending the results of an internal investigation.
Chief Deputy Col. Eric Bryant confirmed with the Times-Recorder on Monday that a deputy had misplaced his/her service weapon, which has since been found.
No further details are available until the investigation is complete.
