Whaley pitches complete game in 10-0 win over Miller County

COLQUITT, GA – Schley County starting pitcher Saige Whaley pitched a complete game, leading the Lady Wildcats to a 10-0 shutout over Miller County on Wednesday, September 5, at Miller County High School.

The Lady Wildcats did most of their scoring in the top of the first inning. They scored six runs in that inning. Emily Campbell and Tamia Kelley both singled. Perri DeVane and Saige Whaley both reached on an error, and Landry Whaley hit a double to contribute to the six-run explosion.

Schley County added three more insurance runs in the top of the third and one in the fourth. The Lady Wildcats scored 10 runs on 10 hits and did not commit an error. On the other hand, Miller County struggled in the field. The Lady Pirates committed five errors in this game.

The game ended after five innings due to a run rule. Saige Whaley pitched all five innings. She gave up only two hits, walked none and struck out one batter.

Emily Campbell went 2-for-4 at the plate, scoring two runs and driving in an RBI. Perri DeVane went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored. Landry Whaley went 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI.
