Jimmy Carter National Historic Site to host Lady Buffaloes Softball Tournament

PLAINS – The Jimmy Carter National Historic Site will be hosting the inaugural Lady Buffaloes Softball Tournament Friday and Saturday, September 14-15 at the ball field at Plains High School.
Teams from Furlow Charter, Sumter Middle School, Terrell County and Pelham Middle School will play on the same field where Jimmy Carter and his classmates played ball.
The first pitch of the tournament will be on Friday, September, 14, at 4:30 p.m. between Furlow Charter and Sumter Middle School. Saturday’s action will begin at 9 a.m., followed by games at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. All games will have a time limit of one hour and thirty minutes.
The event will be open to the public and admission is free. Parking will be in the front and rear parking lots of Plains High School, with overflow parking on Bond Street.
