Gills celebrate Golden Wedding Anniversary
Tyrus and Ann Gill celebrated their 50th Golden Wedding Anniversary Sunday, Sept. 9 at Ellaville United Methodist Church. This special day started with the 11 a.m. worship service. All family and friends were invited to have dinner with the honorees and help them celebrate.
This special event was held in the Social Hall of Ellaville United Methodist Church. Guest tables were covered with white linen tablecloths and a gold, linen overlays. The centerpieces consisted of a large bud vase with roses, carnations and babies’ breath.
Ann wore a pretty navy blue dress with a lovely pink shoulder corsage and Tyrus wore a pink boutonniere on his coat.
As guests entered there was a table with a lovely floral arrangement of roses, carnations, babies’ breath and other greenery in a bronze vase.
A lovely two-layer wedding cake was placed and served as one of the desserts. A delicious meal was catered by Major’s Catering.
There were 75 guests in attendance.
They had four pages of special memories in a booklet for all. The booklet continued photos of Tyrus and Ann in 1968, and now. They have two children and six grandchildren. They were married in Panama City, Florida. The booklet also included fun facts about the couple and reflected the times with cars, news, and music of the day, among other things.
