AMERICUS – The Georgia Southwestern State University baseball team will be hosting two select camps and one youth camp in December 2018 and January 2019 for those players who aspire to play at the next level. The GSW coaching staff will teach the skills necessary to reach the collegiate playing level. Players will have the opportunity to meet the coaching staff one-on-one and be evaluated by the camp staff.

Select Camp II will be hosted on Saturday, December 8, and Select Camp III will be hosted on Sunday, January 20, 2019. Each camp has a registration fee of $150 with check in beginning at 8:15 a.m. The camp will end around 5 p.m.

Select camps are one-day camps that feature instruction and a showcase. There will also be a chance to do a pro-style workout in which high school and junior college players can display their talents. Players will receive the opportunity to meet and interact with the GSW coaching staff, as well as get tips on hitting, defense and pitching. There will also be information about strength and conditioning, as well as information about recruiting and academics. An evaluation will be available upon request.

The Youth Camp will be hosted on Monday, January 21, 2019, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., for players ages 5-12. The camp has a registration fee of $50 and will give the young players an opportunity to expand their baseball skills, as well as benefit from a unique, competitive and challenging atmosphere, while learning from GSW coaches and players.

All campers are required to bring all necessary baseball equipment such as a bat, gloves, cleats tennis shoes and catcher’s gear (if needed). All GSW camps are open to any and all applicants and are limited only by the number of slots available per camp, as well as the age, grade level and/or the grader of the participant.
